Terms of service
Last updated: 15 October 2026
The short version: OurLotto is a website and app for organising a lottery syndicate. We are not a gambling operator. We don’t sell lottery tickets, place entries, take stakes, hold syndicate money or pay out prizes. Your syndicate buys its own tickets and manages its own money. Everyone using OurLotto must be 18 or over.
These terms apply when you use ourlotto.uk, any syndicate site we host (for example yourname.ourlotto.uk or a custom domain), the OurLotto app and our billing portal. Please read them. By creating an account or ordering a plan you agree to them.
1. Who we are
OurLotto (ourlotto.uk) is a service provided by MB Computers, a business run by Matthew Brown as a sole trader in Scotland, UK (mbc.scot). Our business address is [ADDRESS]. [COMPANY NUMBER / VAT NUMBER IF APPLICABLE]
You can contact us at [email protected]. In these pages, “we”, “us” and “our” mean MB Computers.
2. What OurLotto does
OurLotto gives a syndicate its own website and installable web app. It lets a syndicate organiser invite members, record the syndicate’s ticket numbers, track contributions and the syndicate pot, show members the syndicate’s bank details, send reminders and notifications, and keep an e-signed syndicate agreement. We import published draw results and check the recorded numbers automatically.
OurLotto is not a gambling operator and does not sell tickets. We do not buy tickets, enter draws, accept or hold stakes or contributions, or pay or hold prizes. Members pay the syndicate directly (for example by bank transfer to the organiser’s account), and the syndicate buys its tickets from an official National Lottery retailer, website or app. OurLotto is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to The National Lottery, Allwyn, Camelot or any lottery operator.
Results checking is for convenience only. Results and matches are worked out from the numbers you enter and data we import, and could be late, incomplete or wrong. The official results and the operator’s own ticket check are what count. Always check your actual tickets and claim prizes yourself, within the operator’s deadlines.
3. Age: 18+ only
You must be 18 or over to use OurLotto, to be a syndicate organiser or to be a syndicate member. You must also be 18 or over to play The National Lottery. We may close any account we believe belongs to someone under 18.
4. Accounts
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password private. You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- Each account is for one person. Don’t share logins.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where reasonable.
5. Syndicate organiser’s responsibilities
If you set up or manage a syndicate on OurLotto (the “organiser” or “manager”), you are responsible for running your syndicate. In particular you agree to:
- make sure every member is 18 or over, and that taking part is legal for them;
- agree clear rules with members, using the syndicate agreement (based on the National Lottery template) or your own, and follow them;
- buy the syndicate’s tickets yourself, on time, from an official retailer, website or app, and record them accurately;
- handle members’ money honestly: keep accurate records, keep the syndicate’s money safe, and share any prizes as agreed;
- only collect what is needed to buy tickets: the syndicate must not make a profit from members or charge them extra fees for taking part;
- keep your syndicate’s bank details correct, and only add members’ personal details with their knowledge and for running the syndicate;
- check winning tickets and claim prizes yourself;
- keep your syndicate private (for example friends, family or work colleagues). OurLotto must not be used to sell entries to the public, advertise a syndicate commercially or run a lottery, raffle, prize draw or other gambling.
Disputes between syndicate members (for example about payments or sharing a prize) are for the syndicate to resolve. We can’t decide them and aren’t responsible for them, but we can help with any records held on OurLotto.
6. Plans, fees and renewal
- OurLotto address (yourname.ourlotto.uk): £4.99 for the first year (launch offer), then £29.99 a year.
- Custom domain (your own web address): £27.99 a year. You are responsible for registering and paying for your own domain unless we agree otherwise.
Prices are per syndicate, not per member, and include [VAT / no VAT: MB Computers is not VAT registered]. Plans are paid yearly in advance through our billing portal (billing.ourlotto.uk); card payments are processed by our payment provider. Plans renew automatically every year at the price then shown, and we’ll remind you by email at least [14] days before renewal. If we change a price, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before your renewal and you can cancel before it applies.
These fees are for the OurLotto service only. They are never used to buy tickets and never form part of any stake or prize.
7. Cancelling and refunds
14-day cooling-off period. If you are a consumer, you can cancel within 14 days of ordering for any reason and get a full refund. If you ask us to set your site up and start straight away during that 14 days, and then cancel, we may deduct a fair amount for the service already provided.
After 14 days you can cancel any time from the billing portal or by emailing us. Your site will stay live until the end of the year you have paid for and will not renew. We don’t normally refund part-years, unless we’re at fault.
Your legal rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, our service must be provided with reasonable care and skill and as described. If it isn’t, contact us and we will put it right or, if we can’t, give you an appropriate refund. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. Free advice is available from Consumer Advice Scotland.
If you don’t renew, or you cancel, we will keep your syndicate’s data for [30] days so you can download it, then delete it (see our privacy policy).
8. Acceptable use
You must not use OurLotto to:
- break the law, including gambling, consumer, data protection or anti-money-laundering law;
- run or promote gambling, a commercial syndicate, or a lottery, raffle or prize draw open to the public;
- mislead, defraud or harass anyone, or take money from members dishonestly;
- upload anything offensive, defamatory or that infringes someone else’s rights;
- try to get into other people’s accounts or syndicates, test or overload our systems, or copy or scrape the service;
- send spam through invites, notifications or reminders.
We may remove content, or suspend or close a syndicate, that breaks these rules. If we do this through no fault of ours, we don’t have to give a refund.
9. Responsible gambling
The lottery should be a bit of fun with friends, not a way to make money. Set a budget you can afford, never chase losses and never pay in money you need for bills.
If gambling stops being fun for you or someone you know, free, confidential help is available 24 hours a day from BeGambleAware.org and the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133. You can also find support at GambleAware.org. The National Lottery lets you set limits and self-exclude from its own website. If you ask, we can close your OurLotto account or remove you from a syndicate.
10. Our service
We work hard to keep OurLotto running, secure and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may need to take it offline for maintenance, and we may improve or change features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you’ve paid for, we’ll tell you and you can cancel for a refund of the unused part.
11. Our liability to you
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
- We are not responsible for: tickets not bought, lost or entered wrongly; prizes not claimed or claimed late; results or matches shown wrongly (always check official results); money paid between members and organisers; disputes within a syndicate; or anything a syndicate organiser or member does.
- OurLotto is for private, non-commercial use. If you use it for a business, we aren’t liable for loss of profit, business or opportunity.
- Apart from the above, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the problem happened.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
12. Your content and data
You own the information you and your syndicate add to OurLotto. You give us permission to store and use it only to provide the service. How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy policy and cookie policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example for new features or changes in the law. We’ll change the date at the top, and if the change is important we’ll email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before then.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you have a complaint, please contact us first and we’ll try to sort it out. Any dispute can be taken to the Scottish courts. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
